Relationships are an important part of our lives, but they can also be a source of anxiety, frustration, loneliness, and pain. We may find ourselves repeating similar patterns with other people without fully understanding why they happen or how to change them.
Group therapy offers a unique opportunity to better understand yourself in your relationships with other people. Rather than only talking about experiences that happen outside of therapy, group members can also pay attention to what happens with one another in the group. This can help you notice patterns that may also be occurring in friendships, romantic relationships, family relationships, or at work.
Members are encouraged to put their thoughts and feelings into words, including things that may be difficult to say. Together, we can look at what makes it hard to speak openly, how other people experience us, and how we react to them. The group also provides an opportunity to try different ways of communicating and relating to others.
Over time, this can help members better understand themselves, become more comfortable expressing difficult feelings, develop more satisfying relationships, and feel less alone.
Who Might Benefit From Group Therapy?

- Working through anxiety, shame, loneliness, or conflict with others
- Developing a greater capacity for closeness and intimacy

- Building on work already taking place in individual therapy
Current Groups
I currently lead weekly psychotherapy groups for adults ages 21 and older. They are process-oriented and meet in a hybrid format, with the opportunity to participate in person at my Teaneck office or to participate virtually when appropriate.
I am Board Certified in Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychology, a certified psychoanalyst, and have pursued advanced training in group psychotherapy through the Center for Group Studies.
I am licensed as a psychologist in New Jersey and New York and hold an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT #11487) through PSYPACT. This may allow eligible group members located in approved jurisdictions to participate virtually.
Please contact me at 201-873-7556 for information about current openings in my groups or to discuss whether group therapy is a good fit for you.
